Study Shows Heavy Metal Are Present In Several Juice Brands -
A new study finds harmful metals, including arsenic and lead in more than 20 fruit juices. The study by Consumer Reports tested 45 fruit juices sold across the U.S. and found elevated levels of heavy metals in 21 of them. Researchers say many of the juices are marketed to children.
The drinks tested include national, store, and private label brands such as Capri Sun, Gerber, Minute Maid, Mott's, and Welch's. Health experts say the risk is compounded because kids can also take in elevated levels of heavy metals in other foods and from water and the environment.
