Sure, LeBron James going to L.A. is going to be a huge success for the NBA.
But that doesn’t mean it won’t be a disaster for Hollywood.
At least if the story coming out of tinsel town is true—after years of rumors—that a new “Space Jam” movie will be released and with LeBron playing point on it.
And just to prove they are serious about it, James has just tabbed “Black Panther” director Ryan Coogler to head the new “Space Jam” project.
“In his first project since directing the record-breaking Black Panther, Ryan Coogler is teaming with LeBron James on the anticipated follow-up to the Michael Jordan-Bugs Bunny hit Space Jam,” says the Hollywood Reporter.
King James couldn’t be more excited to work with Coogler, who also directed hits “Creed” and “Fruitvale Station.”
“I loved his vision,” James told “The Hollywood Reporter.” “So for Ryan to be able to bring that to kids, it’s amazing.”
The production on the Warner Bros. film is slated for the 2019 NBA offseason and will include Terence Nance as its director.
Anyone else think this is going to make for the rottenest of tomatoes?
