Alarm Clock Stuck In Wall for 13 Years

posted by Eric Bishop -

Jerry Lynn needed to find where to punch a hole in his living room wall to pass a wire through for a TV hookup, so he came up with a plan that involved tying an alarm clock to a string and fishing it through an air vent. When the clock went off, Lynn would be able to figure out where the sound was coming from. The problem? The clock fell off the string and the homeowner was unable to fish it out.

Lynn figured it would run out of batteries in a few months. "That was in September of 2004. It is still going off every day," he says. "And during daylight savings time it goes off at ten minutes ’til eight. And during standard time it goes off at ten minutes to seven at night.”

Jerry's wife Sylvia says they've gotten used to it, but guests are often taken by surprise.
