“The Joker” Was Being Re-Written As It Was Being Filmed

In case you missed it, the origin story for “The Joker” starring Joaquin Phoenix is set to open October 4 th . And now that filming’s pretty much complete, we’re getting little tidbits of the production. For one? Shooting of the flick is described as “looser” than most films. In fact, co-star Zazie Beetz says that much of the script was re-written as shooting was going on. There were also tons of re-shoots. You might think that spells trouble, but that’s reportedly the norm for producer/director Todd Phillips …and considering he’s had a decent amount of success filming that way (“Road Trip,” “Old School,” “The Hangover,” “War Dogs” ring a bell?) It appears to be another day at the office.
